As an industrial designer, my thesis focused on experimenting with various materials to create innovative products. Hailing from León, Guanajuato—the world's largest exporter of leather—I've been surrounded by the craftsmanship that brings to life an array of products, including purses, shoes, and car upholstery.
In 2009, while still in college, I founded Piqui, my own product design line. My uncle, who has been distributing jackets for Levi's, has been a tremendous support for the past 15 years, assisting me in manufacturing leather accessories such as purses, bracelets, and cardholders.
Additionally, I have a deep appreciation for fabrics and their production in Mexico, particularly in Chiapas. This passion led me to collaborate in 2023 on a line of hupiles—traditional sleeveless tunics worn by women across many regions of Mexico—under the Piqui brand.
I’m excited to share that we will be introducing new branding and distribution by the end of 2024!
